Oral Cancer Support Group Tonight!
Baylor Hospital in Plano hosts an Oral/Head & Neck Cancer Support Group once a month. This month Dr. Lee Fitzgerald and Arma Fitzgerald will be discussing oral cancer and the Fight Oral Cancer Foundation. The group will be held today, March 2, 2010 at 6:00pm.
This group is a part of the SPOHNC group that we participated in a fundraising event in September of 2009.

National Walk for Oral Cancer – Volunteers Needed!
We are preparing for our National Walk for Oral Cancer that will take place in May. Details on the Dallas location will be sent out shortly. If you have a heart to help in the fight against oral cancer and would like to be a part of this event, please let me know as we are currently building our volunteer team and could use as many hands as possible.
This will be the inaugural walk, thus, we are open to volunteers that wish to take on various projects. Money that we raise will go toward:
- Educational pamphlet to be distributed at schools, hospitals, health fairs and public libraries locally and nationwide.
- Provide dental care and dental hygiene educational programs for children.
- Hold free oral cancer screenings locally and nationwide.
- Sponsor speakers to raise awareness and promote screening.
- Fund oral cancer research.
Hosting Local Walk Nationally or Internationally
We encourage individuals and organizations that are not from Dallas to host a walk in your hometown. If you are interested in hosting one in your area, please let us know and we’ll work with you to give you the details you’ll need in order to host your own walk.
Free Oral Cancer Screenings – Irving, TX
Pegasus Skating Group and Support for People with Oral and Head and Neck Cancer (SPOHNC) are coming together for the SKATE4SPOHNC event. The Fight Oral Cancer Foundation will be providing free oral cancer screenings at SKATE4SPOHNC and Arma Shahidi will be signing autographs and taking pictures.
Location: Campion Trail, T.W. Richardson Grove Park, 333 East I-635, Irving, TX
Details of the Event: Come and skate with the Pegasus Skating Group or bring your bike, walking and/or jogging shoes. Have your picture made with 2009 Mrs. International. Enjoy free food, have a good time and show your support for SPOHNC.
Time: Event is from 9am-11am; Autographs from 11am-12pm
